- What is Functional or Closed Kinetic Chain Exercise?
o The concept of Functional or CKC Exercise simply refers to training and developing the muscles so that the performance of everyday activities is easier, smoother, safer, and more efficient.
o In other words attention should be given to exercises that enhance everyday movements, improving a client’s ability to function more independently in the real world.
Exercise can fall into two basic types of activity. Closed Kinetic Chain Exercises and Open Kinetic Chain Exercises.

The Element of Intensity, which pushes you out of your comfort zone and into the next Level of Fitness!
o Do something different and get a different result.
o Do the same thing and get the same result.
It Targets all Major and Minor Muscle Groups, giving you a total body workout in just one hour!
You’re Cardiovascular Vascular System (heart and lung function) will improve after each
session, which will cause your body to function more efficiently.

o Closed Kinetic chain exercises include those in which the distal end of the exercise is fixed such as a squat or lunge where the feet remain in place while the exercise is preformed.
o Opened Kinetic chain exercises do not have a fixed distal point, such as a bicep curl or leg extension.
o CKC Exercises are generally considered superior because they require the coordination of multiple muscle groups during functional movement according to the American Council on Exercise “Advanced Health and Fitness Specialist Manual. It is Instructed by:
o Retired, US Army, Airborne Ranger, Company First Sergeant, 1SG/ E8 Micheal Meadows, a Hand to Hand Combative Instructor, 20 year veteran and Certified AFAA Personal Training Instructor.
o And Specialist, E-4 Scott Fell also a US Army Veteran of 3 years. His knowledge of body transformation is apparent because in 2006 Scott transformed his body from a lean150 pounds, with 12 percent body fat; to an extraordinary gain of 25 pounds of muscle (175 pounds) and reduced his body fat to 4.4 percent in just one year. He is also a Certified AFAA Personal Training Instructor.Hours of Operation
